How Is Your House Security?

As the evenings start to get dark early and with Christmas being around the corner, it is with no surprise that the scumbags come out and start looking at easy properties to rob, as they also have a Christmas list however, going to a local store and purchasing their presents is not on their agenda. Your property and goods are a much better way of getting things for free.

In Clonmellon village, a member of the men's shed who lives at the end of the village (Kell's road) was attacked by two thugs last Saturday in broad daylight at 10am in the morning.

The shed member confronted the men and managed to get the better side of the scuffle however, he did get hit with a house tile having to fight off the two of them. They ran leaving a spade and a BB gun which looked like a real gun.  The ambulance and Gardai were called. The shed member was a bit shaken by the experience as no one wants or expects this to happen, needless to say, the security around his house and the shed is now going to be ramped up.

There have already been reports of a crew cab with four men inside, driving up and down the Kilskyre road during the night a few days ago. So we would suggest that everyone check their security and please be vigilant. Anything that looks strange, take a photo or call the police. Any car that is acting strange or looks out of place, take the reg number and a description.

The Neighbourhood watch number you need to dial if you see anything suspicious is 046 928 0820.
